Under mute group there should be an option of up to 32. I don't see a yes or no. Maybe you have an old firmware on it. Press mode + pad 8/other. Scroll data wheel all the way right until it displays version. What does it say? The latest version is 1.31

Ahh…my bad. It’s the option of on/off but no numbers to choose from. Version 1.11. I’m guessing this would have been the same version when the video was made yea?

@@PatrickJones-1 as you can see in the vide i was able to select mute group 1. The on/off must be a limitation of that older OS you are running. Definitely go upgrade it. There are some other added features your missing out on as well. I believe the old OS only has 1 filter and the newest has 3 filters. I'd recommend going to the 500 page on the mpc-forums.com and search in their for the update. I've seen it posted in the past.

@@LiftedNoise was hesitant because I wasn’t sure if the JJOS developer was still around but once I do all my upgrades from mpcstuff I’ll go ahead and purchase it! The 2000XL gets a lot of unnecessary flack but it a dope machine easy to use and it’s also super customizable! Thanks for the confirmation on the JJOS.

I made sure the ripples where in! I experienced issues before with my 1000. The sensitivity is already really good. I was just getting greedy. But good to hear they will break in a bit overtime. I wouldn't mind just a little more sensitivity.

I have. The stick setting seems to be the best though. I got a bit greedy here. It's sensitive enough.

Thanks for the comment! 🍻 did you like the 500 at all? Nothing really beats the new MPCs. I've owned the 500 on a few different occasions and I plan on keeping this one. Keep it in the collection. But I also like the challenge of not having the visual at times. And these projects should be compatible with the new MPCs so I'll just transfer over and finish in the LIVE 2.

@Skulptursound 🤣🍻 yea man me too! I've been making drum kits and fingerdrumming since I put the fat pads on. Lot of fun! Still thinking I could add a bot more sensitivity if I add this tape. Did you do a pad fix or what?

@@LiftedNoise I did mpc1000 fat pads and cut the extra row of pads off as not to have the mpcstuff logo. One thing I did was drilled the holes out a little bigger where the pad nipples fit in the metal plate the sensors glue to. Sometimes those nipples would pop out of the holes and cause more gap.. I’ve done that pad fix on my mpd32 though, I used strips of electrical tape, also the cork still I got the fat pads with the built in corks.. my 500 pads seemed to loosen up the more I banged them.

@@LiftedNoise to be honest, i only used it in that Demo i made lol. I mean, i have a MPC One with Auto Slice. But i plan to do more stuff with my MPC 500 and that feature. We will see.

Glad to be back! Hope to keep it and if the project transfer us as smooth as I hope then I'll be very happy. The SP-404 MK2 is another good options. If the 500 had chopping like it people would be all over this. But the by ear chopping I think can guide you in some unique directions.

No doubt 🍻 I still use my live more than this because of the battery and portability. I usually create more at my job then at home. The mpc 1000 was my 1st MPC and I loved it then but I recently got one and couldn't go back since using the new MPCs. It's just missing basic conveniences that I don't want to go without anymore. Why do you think you'll like this more than the live. It's pretty much the same workflow although a bot more buttons. That maybe what you prefer...🍻
